The Brimless Cap - Stormy Kromer

First time for me ordering, but a long time tradition of SK for the men in the family. The Brim is small on sizing. The pull down is so minimal…., So, I asked him to try flipping it down instead. When flipped down, you can see the underside of the stitch cloth & the black lining doesn’t reach the cap hem. I honestly thought it was a hat that didn’t pass quality control. We’re returning for a 1/2” bigger (just because he likes the Brim look (no cap). Then, I send it back to exchange it, pay $8 shipping fee & the hat was now marked $10 cheaper on THE DAY after Christmas. This hat, I am absolutely not a bit impressed. It’s cute to look at, but that’s it. Sorry SK, but this one is a fail. Any hat capable of being flipped down (since the pull down is so minimal) should have the liner meet the hem. ~ Hello! We are really sorry your cap didn't fit as expected. Our ear band is not meant to flip down, so that is not abnormal to see that type of stitching under there. We do have maybe our Rancher or Midway style that you could be more satisfied with regarding ear band length.

First of all, I love my brimless! Have a buddy from downstate who always wears his brimmed Kromer backwards. One night at the Village Inn, in Detour, MI, he nearly got his ass kicked from some locals who took exception of the backwards peak. I am happy to say that I've worn my brimless at the Village Inn on multiple occasions and rather than being threatened with an asking, patrons have bought me drinks! It's a great cap!

The Stormy Kromer brimless hat is the best hat out there for bicycling in windy environments. I've had any number of baseball caps fly off, particularly while riding downtown among tall buildings with downdrafts. Since this cap has no brim it doesn't catch the wind. It looks good as well. Even my international jet-setter daughter said I looked incongruously hip. My wife didn't want to be seen with me wearing my defiantly counter-fashionable classic Stormy Kromer (to "Elmer Fuddy-Duddy"!). One day while walking the dog I put it on backwards and when I came back in she noted the "nice cap" right away. That lead me to by the brimless version. Bonus is that when drawn down it looks like a nice toque or ski cap. My only suggestion is that the logo be put on the side or back by the laces for those of us who'd rather not be commercially branded. I like this cap so much I ordered a second one in a panic when I misplaced the first. Now I have two! I wish there were a ventilated cap for summer!

I am a photographer and not having a bill in the way is ideal! Plus, I shoot in a lot of less than perfect conditions and the hat keeps my head insulated while hat is wet. I also wear a hat like this so that bumps against rocks and branches does not draw blood. Washes easily in cold, dry by line and it won't shrink. Turn it around for the nape strap to keep it snug, this isn't an ear flap as many customers have thought it was. My only complaint is I can't get it in forest green.
