Due to the voltage fluctuation from a lithium cell (are you using lithium?), a series resistor won't maintain constant current. As the battery voltage decreases from 4.2V to approximately 3.5V, the resistor will result in diminishing current as the battery drains.

I aim to power a lamp emitting roughly 20 lumens for 5 to 6 hours. I'm sourcing a lithium battery (is a voltage of 3.7 good? I'm estimating a capacity of 500 to 600 mAh to achieve the desired runtime) which will be connected to a TP, in turn linked to a solar panel (what is the minimum necessary voltage to recharge the battery?). I will control the circuit with a physical switch, allowing me to turn the LED load connected to the TP board on or off (I understand that I cannot recharge while there's a load but I plan to use it at night). Given the limited space, I require a compact battery and solar panel that need to fit within a 9 to 10 cm diameter. It's essential for the solar panel to be capable of fully charging the battery. How can I optimize for maximum energy efficiency while still achieving a bright lamp?
