Since the posting is about the tank material & fabrication and the waster treatment process, may consider to post it in the Civil/Environ Eng'r/Waste Disposal & Treatment forum.

At one time glass lined residential waterheater tanks were common in the US (made by AO Smith).
These were in the 30-60 gal (120-240 liter) range.
I would presume that such tanks are still generally available.

If the tanks are low pressure, and I assume low temperature, consider thin walled stainless steel or carbon steel with a premium epoxy coating.

"Glass lined" tanks and pressure vessels are useful where temperature will repeatedly go up and down (hot water heaters) or where there is extremely corrosive contents. These tanks were made by AO Smith (and others) and are expensive and fragile.

I believe that this would be expensive overkill for your Indian food waste ....

What is the volume of your tank and what is the maximum operating temperature and pressure ?

What else have you not you told us ?

Dear vij36,

If you go for glass lined tanks, ensure those are manufactured and tested as per Shell DEP 30.48.70.30-Gen. GLASS-LINED STEEL PROCESS EQUIPMENT.

Hi Sen,

I have a sample with the below details:

Enamel thickness 150 micron
Steel thickness 3.2 mm
Steel tensile strength 700 newton/ Square mm

Will the Salt spry testing(ASTM B 117)is sufficient to test the corrosion.

Please let me know. Upvote 0 Downvote

How would you inspect the interior after salt spray testing? I'm assuming this is a closed vessel. You may want to look at electrical (holiday) testing instead. Upvote 0 Downvote

This is a open plate of dimensions 15 cm x 20 cm.

By visually can we identify whether the test has been passed or not ?

We will do holiday testing on tank once it is ready

Perhaps by glass lined tank you are thinking of a fiberglass lined tank? Fiberglass can be adhered directly to the tank surface for much better protection than a painted on coating. A quick search also turned up a company that specializes in this.

Why Glass Fused Steel Tanks Outperform The Rest - LGS Projects

In today's fast-paced industrial world, reliable and long-lasting storage solutions are paramount. For businesses seeking the ultimate in durability, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness, LGS PROJECTS offers cutting-edge Glass Fused Steel (GFS) tanks that represent a leap forward in storage technology.

If you are looking for more details, kindly visit zhaoyang.

What Makes GFS Tanks Different?

Glass Fused to Steel technology isn't just a coating; it's a fusion. At incredibly high temperatures, molten glass chemically bonds with the steel substrate, creating an inert, inorganic layer. This unique process combines the strength and flexibility of steel with the exceptional corrosion resistance of glass. The result? A tank that stands the test of time, even in the harshest environments.

Glass Fused to Steel (GFS) tanks can be very cost-effective in the long run, despite potentially having a higher initial investment compared to some other tank options. Here's a breakdown of why:

Feature What it Means Your Benefit Corrosion Resistance Unlike painted or epoxy-coated tanks, Fused glass creates an inert barrier, preventing rust and corrosion even in harsh conditions. Longer tank life, reduced replacement costs, and protection of stored materials. Chemical Resistance Resists a wide range of chemicals, allowing for versatile storage of various substances. Flexibility for different storage needs and minimizes the risk of damage or contamination. Abrasion Resistance Hard, smooth glass surface prevents wear and tear from solids and flow. Reduced maintenance and extended lifespan of the tank lining. Minimal Maintenance Durable glass surface requires minimal upkeep, eliminating the need for repainting. Lower operational costs and reduced downtime. Significant advantage over traditional tanks that require regular repairs. Fast, Safe Construction Factory-manufactured and bolted on-site, ensuring quick assembly and enhanced safety. Faster project completion, lower labor costs, and minimized disruption to operations. Easy Relocation Bolted design allows for easy disassembly and relocation as needed. Adaptability for future expansion or changing storage requirements. Eco-Friendly Sustainable manufacturing and long lifespan contribute to resource conservation. Aligns with sustainability goals and enhances your company's environmental image.

Versatile Applications

LGS PROJECTS' GFS tanks cater to a wide range of industries and applications.

Application Description Water and Wastewater Treatment Ideal for storing and treating potable water and wastewater; prevents contamination. Chemical Storage Suitable for storing corrosive chemicals like acids and oxidizers, maintaining product integrity. Biogas Plants Used in anaerobic digestion processes due to their resistance to high pressures. Dry Bulk Material Storage Suitable for storing grains and powders, benefiting from low maintenance needs. Food and Beverage Industry Ideal for storing food products (e.g., juices, milk) that require high standards of hygiene. Industrial Applications Safe storage of chemicals and industrial effluents; also utilized in fire protection systems. Agricultural Applications Used for storing fertilizers, animal feed, and irrigation water; efficient digesters for biogas production.

Why Choose LGS PROJECTS?

LGS PROJECTS an ISO : & ISO : certified company With the expertise in design, manufacturing, and installation, we ensure that every GFS tank meets the highest standards of performance and reliability. We are committed to providing innovative and sustainable solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
