The module you linked isn't PMOD compatible because the Vcc and GND lines are the opposite way around compared to the regular PMOD. SSP does not have an SD Card driver that allows you to use SPI, however SPI pinout is sufficient to implement SD 1-bit mode (which is supported by SSP on all devices that have SD/MMC support):
